Raipur, April 9, 2012: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has withdrawn the suspension order of 1978 batch IAS T Radhakrishnan, a top official said today.
"The suspension of Radhakrishnan has been withdrawn," sources close to the Chief Minister today told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Most likely the Additional Chief Secretary ranked official would be posted in the Professional Examination Board of Chhattisgarh as its Chairman, the sources said.
Since Additional Chief Secretary Narayan Singh has not resumed charges of the Professional Examination Board, the post was lying vacant, where Radhakrishnan could be accommodated, he said.
Perhaps the second such case in India in which such a senior most officer of the country attracted this type of action, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh had suspended Radhakrishnan on October 10, 2011.
At the time of his suspension, the 1978 batch IAS Radhakrishnan was the third senior most bureaucrat of the state, who was then posted as the Additional Chief Secretary Public Grievances Redressal Department and also the Director General of the State Administrative Academy.
Radhakrishnan was suspended after a committee found him allegedly involved in several irregularities during his posting in the state Revenue Board, the sources said.
Looking into large numbers of complaint against him, a committee was constituted by the state government led by Additional Chief Secretary Narayan Singh and after the committee found him involved in the alleged gross irregularities and submitted a 12-point report, he had been suspended, the sources said.
Radhakrishnan was the fourth IAS officer to be suspended in the state and all under the regime of Dr Raman Singh.
Previously on various charges, Ajay Pal Singh, P Raghavan and B L Agrawal had been suspended.
Officials said this was perhaps second such incident in the country in which a Chief Secretary ranked officer was suspended. Earlier Arjun Singh had suspended a Chief Secretary.
Suspension of Radhakrishnan was withdrawn on April 07, 2012, the top official said.
