20 PC interim relief to Chhattisgarh employees

Raipur, September 18, 2008: Chhattisgarh government finally today issued notification for giving 20 per cent interim relief to its employees and 10 per cent to its pensioners after its commitment for implementing the Six Pay Commission.

The state government has decided to implement the recommendations of the Six Pay Commission with effect from January 2006 and for that computation has already been started. But the entire process would take time hence the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today decided to give a 20 per cent interim relief to its employees and 10 per cent to pensioners, an official spokesman said here.

As per the decision, the employees would be provided 20 per cent of their basic salary and dearness allowance as interim relief, where as ten per cent of the basic pension and DA would be provided to the pensioners, he said.

For a better implementation by Chhattisgarh of the notification of implementation of the Six Pay Commission by the Centre, a committee has been constituted in the state and since the Committee had sought time to prepare its report, the interim relief was decided, the spokesman said.

From September 2008, the employees and pensioners would get the interim relief and the dues between January 2006 and August 31, 2008 would be paid later on, he said.
