Korba, April 26, 2011: Villagers have accused the South Eastern Coalfield Limited of engaged in illegal activities in Amgaon village of Korba District in Chhattisgarh.
Without acquiring lands in Amgaon area, the SECL has begun its works in the Gevra Extension Project area, villagers have complaint.
According to Personnel Manager Gevra Project R Sundaram claimed they had obtained permission from the tehsil office to start work.
However, the villagers said the application for land acquire in Amgaon was still pending with the authority and in that condition, any over burden work was illegal.
They also threatened to go on strike if the SECL continue with its illegal works.
Previously also the SECL had engaged in such activities without proper permission and after agitation of the people that was stopped.
The SECL work has created tension in that area and forces from CISF and SECL guards have been deployed in that area.
