Raipur, October 05, 2011: Amid iron ore export scam rocking the country, including in Karnataka, Goa and Odisha, BJP Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh today demanded total ban on export of iron ore from the country.
Export of iron ore should be banned in the country, Singh told a function here.
Rather it should be used as a raw material with in the country, he said adding the value addition would not only help the nation but also its people.
The Chief Minister also called on the planners to work towards achieving the national average of 51 per cent irrigation percentage from the current rate of 32 per cent for achieving higher growth rate in the Twelve five year plan (2012-2017).
State Planning Board Vice Chairman Shivraj Singh told the function that the government expected a State Gross Domestic Product of 9.75 per cent during the Eleventh Five Year Plan.
