Cong expresses concern over smuggling out of children from Chhattisgarh

Raipur, December 17, 2011: Main opposition Congress today expressing concern over recovery of 292 children in Karnataka capital Bangalore, claimed among them were the children, who had migrated out of the state with their parents.

Among the recovered children were the minors, who had migrated out of the state in search of bread and butter, PCC President Nand Kumar Patel and Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey said here.

Such children were forced to bagging, they said in a statement.

According to information reached here majority of the children were belonged to the Schedules Caste community and are mostly from Bilaspur and Janjgir-Champa district, they said.

The Congress also blamed the ruling BJP for the situation claiming, due to rampant corruption in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the villagers are forced to migrate to other places, in search of bread and butter and their children were subjected to such conditions also.

Meanwhile, taking the matter seriously, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has directed Secretary Women and Child Welfare Department to personally visit Bangalore with a team and secure release of the children belonged to Chhattisgarh, officials said here.
