Paddy procurement from Nov 1: Govt
Raipur, September 07, 2012: Chhattisgarh Government would start procurement of paddy from November 01, the state foundation day, a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh was informed today.
Paddy procurement would be started from November 01, 2012 and continue till February 15, 2013, a review meeting of the Food and Civil Supply Department was informed today.
This year the state government has targeted to procure about 65 lakh tonnes of paddy, officials said in that meeting.
Last year 59.73 lakh tonnes paddy worth Rs 6515 Crore were procured by the state agencies through the cooperative societies.
