No FDI retail outlets in Chhattisgarh: Raman

Dr.Raman Singh

Raipur, September 14, 2012: BJP Government in Chhattisgarh today said it would not allow retail sale outlets with FDI in the state, immediately after the Centre cleared a proposal allowing foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail trading in the country.

"Looking into the interest of the lakhs of small traders, such retail sale outlets with FDI will not be allowed in Chhattisgarh," state Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh told reporters here.

The FDI decision of the Congress led government at the Centre was against the interest of the small and medium traders of the country, he said.

The Chief Minister also questioned the intention of the Centre in taking series of anti-people decisions like hike in prices of diesel by Rs 5, limiting the subsidized LPG cylinder to six and the latest decision to open 51 per cent FDI in retail trading.
