Inauguration of Durg-Jagdalpur Train cancels

Bilaspur/Jagdalpur, October 01, 2012: Railway authority has cancelled the inaugural function to start the much awaited Durg-Jagdalpur-Durg train.

On instruction from the Railway Board, the inaugural function of the 12811/12812 Durg-Jagdalpur-Durg train has been cancelled, South East Central Railway sources said.

The inaugural function was scheduled on October 03, 2012 to start the tri-weekly train and the Railway authorities have not assigned any reason for cancellation of the function.

However, sources claimed, the function was being organised with the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Bastar BJP MP Dinesh Kashyap and local BJP MLAs as guests, which was opposed by the Congress party in the state.

After the Congress leaders complaint to Delhi, the Railway authorities were forced to cancel the inaugural function to avoid any controversy and a new date would be finalised soon with a fresh list of guests, they added.
