Justice Rajiv Gupta new Chairman State Rights body
Raipur, October 10, 2012: Justice Rajiv Gupta was today appointed as the new Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Human Rights Commission.
A day after his retirement as the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Justice Gupta was today appointed as the Chairman by Governor Shekhar Dutt.
The Governor approved the appointment of Justice Gupta after a high level committee, headed by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, recommended his name for the said post, an official release said here.
State Assembly Speaker Dharam Lal Kaushik, Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ravindra Choubey were also the members of the Committee, it added.
