Teachers, employees giving anxious moments to Govt

Raipur, December 09, 2012: With less than a year left for the next general election to the state Assembly, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today directed his officials to take effective steps to stop spreading of discontentment among the state government employees.

When over lakh teachers are on street since December 03, a call by the state government employees for a strike has forced the Raman government to take effective steps to resolve the issues before others join them.

Panchayat Raj Minister and the department have been asked to look into the demands of the Sikshya karmis (teachers), the Chief Minister told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.

Senior officials have also been asked to look into the problems of the Secretariat employees, he said.

No ruling party could effort to make any broad based organization unhappy as Chhattisgarh has a small assembly of 90 segments only and the government was formed with simple majority.

Having disappointed over the non-fulfillment of their demands, the teachers have gone on an indefinite strike from December 03, 2012.

They have been demanding salary as per Sixth Pay Commission among others.
