On the special initiative of the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, the state would soon get its second Ayurvedic Medical College in Bilaspur, official sources said.
The Chief Minister has asked the officials of the Health and Medical Education Department to complete the formalities as early as possible, they added.
In the year 1954 the only Ayurvedic Medical College of Chhattisgarh was started in Raipur and the Chief Minister himself had passed out from the institute in 1975.
The second medical college was being set up at Sendri village, about 15 km from the district headquarters Bilaspur, the officials said.
Most likely from the academic session 2013-14 the first batch would be enrolled and it would have a capacity of 60 seats, they added.
