Raipur, February 11, 2013: In a surprising decision, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today shifted his Commissioner Sports Raj Kumar Dewangan, an IG ranked IPS officer of Chhattisgarh.
Dewangan, who was functioning as Commissioner Sports and Youth Welfare Department, has been made Director Prosecution, official sources said.
An order to this effect was issued this evening, they added.
However, the government has not posted any one in place of Dewangan.
It was not immediately known why he was shifted ahead of the IPL matches at Raipur, but sources claimed the new Principal Secretary Sports Rajendra Prasad Mandal had complaint to the authority against him.
On February 05 last an honest Indian Forest Officer K Subramaniam was shifted by the government and in his place posted Rajendra Prasad Mandal as the new Principal Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare.
State Government was working over time to make arrangements for two IPL matches, proposed in the International Cricket Stadium here.
