Notification issued for Second phase of polls

Raipur, March 19, 2014: Election Commission of India today issued notification for the maoist-hit Rajnandgaon, Kanker and Mahasamund Lok Sabha seats, which will go to poll on April 17, 2014.

With the notification issued for the three seats the nomination process was also started from today..

Last date of filing nominations is March 26 and the scrutiny is on March 27, 2014.

Last date of withdrawal of candidature is March 29, 2014 and election will be held in Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund and Kanker seats on April 17, 2014.

However, counting of votes will take place on May 16, 2014, the Election Commission said.
