BJP wants positive votes this time: Sushma Swaraj

Raipur, November 16, 2008: BJP today said it was asking for a positive vote from the people of Chhattisgarh for its second assembly election.

Last time the BJP had asked for a negative vote. A vote in December 2003 assembly election against the Ajit Jogi government of Congress. But this time the BJP was asking for a positive vote, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj told a press conference here.

She said the party was asking the people to vote for development and welfare of the people as the Raman Singh government had done a lot for them and the party wanted to continue with that.

Poverty should be the top most priority of any government but when the Raman Government started Rs 3 per KG rice to poor, the Congress led government at the Centre cut a 60-lakh tonnes quota of rice to Chhattisgarh, she claimed.

The senior BJP leader also said BJP and the people of Chhattisgarh are surprised to see former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and Congress party were levelling allegations of corruption against the Raman government, when Congress was known for its irregularities, she claimed.

With in two years of BJP coming to power at the Centre the work of All India Institute of Medical Science-Raipur would be completed, the former central Health Minister said.
