Raipur, April 21, 2014: Eminent journalist of Chhattisgarh Devendra Kar, his wife Deepika and his elder sister Vinodini were today consigned to flame at their native village.
Elder son Rohan performed the last rite of Devendra and his wife Deepika where as the only son of Vinodini performed her last rites at Paiken, near Saraipali, of Mahasamund district.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Aman Singh, Director Public Relations Om Prakash Chaudhary, Raipur Press Club President Anil Pushadkar and large number of people from media, political and social circle were present there.
In a condolence meeting every one tried to mention their strong bonding with Devendra Kar and remember his jovial and helpful nature.
Chhattisgarh Governor Shekhar Dutt, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Assembly Speaker Gauri Shankar Agrawal have also expressed their sorrow over the sudden death of Kar.
PCC President Bhupesh Baghel had also expressed his heartfelt condolences.
While coming from Bhubaneswar to Raipur, the Bolero vehicle in which Kar family was travelling in, collided in a road side tree near Jujomura of Sambalpur district, about 320 kilometre from here wee hours yesterday.
The impact of the accident was so strong that Devendra Kar, his wife Deepika and his elder sister Vinodini were died on the spot.
Both the sons of Devendra Kar are seriously injured along with his niece and all had been shifted to Burla Medical College Hospital and subsequently to Raipur further treatment.
In an injured condition Rohan performed the last rite of his parents today.
