Buch Committee review Maoist cases

Raipur, May 07, 2014: The high power Nirmala Buch Committee today reviewed pending cases of Maoists and their related people.

The Buch Committee recommended to the state government not to oppose the bail application of 36 Maoists or related people, who are in jail for a longer period.

The meeting was chaired by Buch and attended by Chief Secretary Vivek Kumar Dhand, ACS Home N K Aswal and DGP A N Upadhyaya.

A total of 57 cases were discussed in the meeting and on 21 matters the committee did not take any decision, sources said.

On the agreement reached after Sukma Collector Alex Paul Menon was abducted by Maoists the Buch committee was formed to review the cases of Maoists and related cases.
