Bhatapara, November 18, 2008: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has become Chaur baba after he provided rice to poors in the state in a very nominal price, BJP Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani said here today.

It was Raman Singh, who was worried about the condition of the poors and decided to provide rice to them for just one rupee and thus he became Chaur Baba among the poor people of the country, Advani told an election meeting here in Bhatapara of Raipur district.

It was BJP government and especially Chief Minister Singh, who had started several welfare measures in the state, Advani said and added BJP was the party, who fulfilled its promises.

Looking into the lack of development in major portions of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, BJP had promised to create new states if comes to power and after NDA came to power at the Centre Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh were created, he said.

It was BJP who always stick to its promises but the Manmohan Singh government at the Centre had done little because of which Congress should be ousted from power, the BJP leader said.

Advani also accused the Congress of not serious towards the security and integrity of the country, for which that party should be rejected and BJP should be given power once again.
