18 Baiga women sterilized in camps
Bilaspur, November 13, 2014: In a new revelation, sterilization operation on 18 Baiga tribal women have come to fore in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh today.
Sterilization operations were conducted on 18 Baiga tribal women of Dhanouli village of Marwahi area of Bilaspur district, officials said.
Since Baigas are protected tribal caste, sterilization has been banned on them. However, operations were conducted on them.
Officials said they are looking into it and action will be taken on the matter.
