Raipur, November 20, 2008: The Election Commission today ordered probe against the former Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Marwahi seat Ajit Jogi after the BJP complaint that the name of the Congress leader was figured in two constituencies.
It is illegal to have names in two places but the name of Marwahi Congress candidate Jogi is figured in Section 12 of Serial number 343 of Raipur South seat as well as in Section seven, Serial number 943 of Kota constituency, BJP state Legal Cell General Secretary Naresh Chandra Gupta complaint to the Election Commission.
On the basis of that complaint the Election Commission has sought report from both the district returning officers of Raipur and Bilaspur, Commission officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here today.
Meanwhile, Commission sources said the Raipur Returning Officer has confirmed the name of Jogi figured in the electoral roll here where as the report from Bilaspur is awaited.
After receiving written reports from both the places appropriate action would be initiated on that matter, the Election officials said.
