Journalists oppose arrest of Santosh Yadav

Raipur, October 10, 2015: Media persons from Bastar and other parts of Chhattisgarh today strongly opposed the arrest of Bastar journalist Santosh Yadav.

A delegation from Bastar and Raipur media also wanted to handover a memorandum to the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh against the arrest of Yadav, who were stopped by police at Civil Line Raipur.

Santosh Yadav was arrested by Bastar police recently accusing him of associate of Maoists, which was strongly opposed by the members of Chhattisgarh media.

Media persons have also demanded that the police should not take action against any journalist out of suspicion.

The media has also demanded a law to protect the media persons, since they have been working in a very difficult situation due to maoist violence.
