Dr.Raman Singh

Raipur, October 20, 2015: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today favoured peace talk with the Maoists to end the three decade old problem.

"We are ready for talk with Maoists," Singh told senior editors in a meeting today.

"We are ready for discussion but the talk should be with the appropriate person from the Maoists side," Singh said indicating his government would talk to the top commander of the CPI Maoist and not with the local leaders.

To a question, Singh clarified there was never any disagreement between the state and the Centre on the Maoists issue.

Every day human rights of 40 lakh people of Bastar region are being violated and that should be debated from the state to the national levels, he said.

On the controversy over the arrest of a journalist from Bastar for his alleged association with the Maoists, the Chief Minister said after verifying all aspect the arrest was made.

Singh also said after Narendra Modi government came to power the flow of funds from Centre has increased many folds.

On the beef controversy, the Chief Minister said because of the political issues like beef and cow slaughter the bigger subject like development has lost its priority.
