Raipur, January 12, 2016: Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari today announced a huge package of Rs 40,000 crore for construction of roads and bridges in Chhattisgarh.
Gadkari also laid the foundation stone for seven national highways in Chhattisgarh with an estimated expenditure of Rs 3,198 crore.
The Union Minister laid the foundation stone at Simga, the tehsil headquarters of Raipur.
The total length of the seven road projects are 342 kilometres and in two years time the road works would be completed.
Also in the function Gadkari announced a package of Rs 40,000 crore to Chhattisgarh, and said the works for these projects would start in one and half years.
Among the works are 1285 kilometre national highways and 40 bridges in Seonath and Hasdeo rivers.
