3rd Supplementary Budget passes in Assembly

Raipur, March 02, 2016: Chhattisgarh Assembly today passed the third supplementary budget of about Rs 3180 crore in a voice vote.

With this, the total outlay of state budget has touched Rs 74,339 crore, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh told the assembly.

In the year 2015-16 the total outlay of the budget was Rs 67,546 crore and including the first, second and the current third supplementary, the total size of the budget has increased to Rs 74,339 crore, he said.

Replying to a discussion on the supplementary budget, the Chief Minister said the state has a better fiscal management compared to many other states.

In the third Supplementary budget, the state government has made provision to give relief to the farmers of the state, which was reeling under a severe drought condition in the last 12 years.

To write off 25 per cent of the short term loan of drought hit farmers, Rs 80 crore has been allotted in this budget for cooperative banks.

The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojaya was a fully central sponsored scheme, whose sharing pattern was changed by the Centre to 60-40 and to share that 40 per cent by the state government Rs 80 crore has been allotted in this budget, Singh said.

After the reply, the House passed the third Supplementary of this fiscal with a voice vote.
