Blue Print soon for universal health services for all: Union Min Nadda

Bhopal, September 17, 2016: The Central government is drafting a blue print to ensure universal health services for all with the help of both the public and private players, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said here today.

Addressing the Second Y N Singh Memorial National Lecture Series here Nadda said the Centre wanted to ensure that all the people, including the poorest, should get the benefit of the health services.

This will be possible with the active participation of both the public and private sector players, he said adding a blue print would be ready in two months time for this purpose.

The Y N Singh Memorial National Lecture Serious was on Universal health services and participation of private sector.

Talking about the lecture series, Aman Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, said the first one was last year on National Security and today the lecture series was on health sector.

In fact Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh had advised to take up important issues through this memorial lecture, he said.

Late Y N Singh was an able administrator, who had worked extensively in the field of cooperative movement at the national level.

Y N Singh had also worked extensively at the grass root level on soyabin and proper utilization of fertilizer.

Eminent heart specialist Dr Naresh Trehan, Chhattisgarh Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar, Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Rustam Singh, and Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh T S Singhdeo among others were from both the states to participate in the lecture series.

The India government has identified 187 districts, which needed capacity building and expansion of health services, Nadda said.

It has also been decided to upgrade 58 district hospitals as medical colleges in the country, he said.

Dr Naresh Trehan emphasized on categorization of diseases saying infectious diseases are a grave challenge to the nation.

If collective actions are taken to root out such diseases then definitely there would be decrease in number of patients in hospitals, Dr Trehan said.
