Raipur, October 02, 2016: On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Chhattisgarh today declared its 945 gram panchayats and 1714 villages open defecation free (ODF) by the state government.
For achieving the success of ODF by the gram panchayats and villages, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has congratulated the villagers and their elected people's representatives.
With the latest announcement, a total of 4214 gram panchayats and 7634 villages have been declared open defecation free by the state government.
The state government has also announced today Katghora, Patharia and Mungeli as ODF blocks.
Including these three, a total of 21 blocks have been declared ODF blocks in Chhattisgarh.
On October 02, 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started this ambitious mission of ODF in the country.
