Raipur, October 17, 2022: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today voted for electing a new Congress President and questioned the electioneering process by the rival BJP.
"Voting to elect a new Congress President is going on," Baghel told reporters at the Rajiv Bhawan, the state Congress headquarters, where voting was taking place.
The Chief Minister also questioned the election of Jagat Prakash Nadda as the BJP president saying they never initiated election process and Nadda became president and he was elected by 2 persons.
People are angry with the Modi regime as in its 2 terms the BJP government had failed to resolve the issues like unemployment, inflation, GST and other issues and in the 2024 general election people will give a befitting reply to the BJP, Baghel said.
Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are locked in a straight fight for the post of Congress President and out of 311 voters 300 have participated in the state, a PCC spokesman said.
Under the direct supervision of Husain Umar Dalwai election was being conducted in the state.
