Raipur, October 18, 2022: Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today decided to procure paddy from November 1 till January 31, next year.
This year paddy procurement would be started from November 1, and would continue for three months up to January 31, 2023.
This will benefit the farmers, Congress party, welcoming the decision said.
For the first time in the history of the state, paddy procurement would continue for three months, PCC President Mohan Markam said in a statement.
This will help farmers in selling their produces with ease, he said.
This year the state government plans to procurement 110 lakh tons paddy from the farmers.
Depending upon the variety, farmers would be paid Rs 2640 and Rs 2660 per quintal.
