Raipur, November 18, 2022: In an attempt to consolidate its position, BJP today appointed senior party leader Brijmohan Agrawal as the in-charge for the December 5 Bhanupratappur assembly by-election.
Former Minister Brijmohan Agrawal has been appointed today as in-charge by the state President Arun Sao for the by-poll, State BJP sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
The general election is going to be held within a year and BJP wanted to give an impressive fight in Bhanupratappur, the sources said adding looking into his experience and working style, the party has appointed Agrawal as the in-charge of the by-poll.
Following the death of three-time Congress MLA Manoj Singh Mandavi on October 16 after a massive cardiac arrest, the by-poll is being conducted on December 5.
While Congress has fielded Savitri, widow of Manoj Mandavi, BJP preferred Brahmanand Netam, a former MLA as its candidate.
Meanwhile, BJP has also announced sector wise in-charge in Bhanupratappur by-poll and also forwarded a long list of leaders, who would be the star campaigner for BJP, the main opposition party in the state.
