Raipur, December 02, 2022: Chhattisgarh Assembly today passed a government bill to give 76 per cent reservation to SC, ST and others.
The Assembly today passed the bill to give reservation of 76 per cent to various sections of the society amid high pitched discussions among both the treasury and opposition benches.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel moved two separate bills in the house and after detailed discussions passed the bill to give ST 32 per cent, SC 13 per cent, OBC 27 per cent and 4 per cent reservation to EWS totalling 76 per cent.
The house also passed a resolution to put the amendment in the 9th Scheduled.
Now the ball will be in the court of Raj Bhawan as the High Court had once rejected the reservation quota, which was exceeding 50 per cent.
