Raipur, December 5, 2022: A total of 71.74 per cent voters today exercised their franchise in the Bhanupratappur assembly by-election in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh.
Provisional reports suggested 71.74 per cent voting registered in Bhanupratappur, Election Commission sources said.
Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh Reena Babasaheb Kangale thanked the polling staff of the entire constituency for a peaceful election in the moist hit district of Kanker.
By and large the election was peaceful and no untoward incident had been reported from any part of the segment, the EC sources said.
The constituency has 1,95,822 voters, including 1 lakh 555 female and 95,266 male voters. Out of them 70.31 female and 73.25 male voters have exercised their franchise, the EC said.
During mock polling one ballot unit, one control unit and 7 VVPAT (Voter verifiable paper audit trail) machines were replaced whereas during voting 3 VVPAT machines were changed due to technical fault, they said.
