Jogi taste first defeat in Chhattisgarh

Bilaspur, May 16, 2009: Ajit Jogi's family, which is one of the prominent political families of Chhattisgarh, today tasted their first political defeat in any poll battle in the state.

Dr Renu Jogi was defeated from the Bilaspur parliamentary seat, where a total of 28 candidates were trying their lucks.

Rajya Sabha member Dillip Singh Ju Deo of BJP defeated his nearest rival and Congress candidate Renu Jogi by a margin of 20139 votes.

Ju Deo polled 347930 votes where as Jogi got 327791 votes.

Bilaspur was made a general seat from SC in this parliamentary poll.
