Raipur, July 9, 2009: Chhattisgarh Government has disconnected power supply to three polluting industries of the Raipur District, amid agitation by the villagers against such units.
The State Government was serious towards proper implementation of the pollution control norms, and for violating that the power supply to three industries have been disconnected, officials said here.
During a surprise checking officials from the State Pollution Control Board had found Corporate Ispat of Siltara Industrial Area was violating the norms and power supply to the industry was disconnected, they said.
Earlier also on June 9, power connection to Satyarth Steel and on June 15 of N R Sponge had been disconnected for the same reason, they added.
