Bilaspur, November 25, 2009: Advocate General Prashant Mishra and senior advocate Manindra Srivastav have been appointed as the judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
A formal order of appointment has yet been issued but official sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com that the formalities for the appointments have been completed.
A date would soon be finalised for their oath after the formal issuance of the appointment letters, the sources said.
Mishra was among the few advocates, who preferred to help the people of Chhattisgarh in legal aid after the state was formed on November 1, 2000. He had a good practice in Madhya Pradesh but leaving behind that Mishra returned to Chhattisgarh to start practice here and soon looking into his capability, he was appointed as the Advocate General by the state government.
For a longer period the Bar in Chhattisgarh was also waiting for the clearance of names of its members to occupy position in the bench.
