Ambikapur, December 17, 2009: At least 45 CRPF jawans were admitted today in the Hospital here as complication developed after they took anti-Malaria drug in Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh.
Since the region is a Malaria infested area, the jawans normally take the combo pack of anti-Malaria drugs and after taking such medicines 45 took ill, CRPF officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.
The CRPF personnel complaint of vomiting, head reeling and other complicacy after taking the medicine, because of which they were immediately shifted to the Hospital here, where they are recuperating, the CRPF officials said.
However, they clarified that the medicines used by the forces are purchased by the CRPF and are of standard medicines and they are examining how the incident took place.
CRPF have been deployed in the north of Chhattisgarh to combat naxalites in the region, bordering Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
