Raipur, January 6, 2010: Over one lakh people of Chhattisgarh were affected by Malaria in the year 2009 and most of them were having Brain Malaria, officials said today.
From January to November 2009, One lakh and 833 patients had been down with Malaria, and about 79,000 of them were having Brain Malaria in Chhattisgarh, a State Health Department compilation said.
Symptom of Malaria were found on over one lakh people after the blood samples were collected from 27.23 lakh people throughout the state, they said.
Bastar region had the highest number of Malaria patients as Bastar had 19,468 patients and Dantewada has 18,438 cases.
Similarly in Jashpur there were 11,725 patients and Sarguja had11,389 cases, they said.
However, the Government claimed, during that period no one was died of Malaria in the state.
