Jashpurnagar, January 7, 2010: The spread of liquor in Chhattisgarh have started disturbing the social fabric here as more and more people have been slipped into the grip of liquor in the state.
In a latest case, a teacher was found in inebriated condition during electioneering in the Jashpur district yesterday, officials said today.
Sanjay Ohdar was found in intoxicated condition during training for the ongoing panchayat election at Pharsabahar block headquarters, officials said.
Taking that matter seriously Jashpur District Collector Surendra Kumar Jaiswal had directed the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer to take strong action against him, following which the teacher was immediately placed under suspension, they said.
Previously many state officials had been found drunk during the office hour and even one of the Revenue Department official was caught intoxicated even during the visit of a cabinet minister in Bastar region.
