Raipur, January 30, 2010: Chhattisgarh Government today decided to purchase paddy from the farmers till February 5, next.
A cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief minister Dr Raman Singh approved a proposal to extend the paddy procurement tenure to five more dates, officials said.
Earlier it was decided to purchase paddy from the farmers from October 12, 2009 to January 31, 2010 and through linking the purchase would be conducted up to February 15.
But the last date is changed from January 31 to February 5, they said.
The state government was expecting to buy about 40 Lakh tones of paddy this year.
