Govt to strengthen emergency health service: Min

Raipur, March 19, 2010: Chhattisgarh government has developed a plan to strengthen the emergency health services here, Health Minister Amar Agrawal told the state Assembly today.

The Government was taking steps to develop a wide network of ambulance services in the state, he said.

Dial 108 and within half an hour one ambulance would be at the requisite site along with para medical staff, Agrawal said replying to a debate on the budget discussion of his Departments.

The state Government would also soon form the Chhattisgarh Medical Corporation to maintain quality in purchase of medicines and equipments, he said.

Later on the house passed the budget demand of Rs 1499.78 Crore on a voice vote. Among the allocations, for Health and Family Welfare Rs 480.10 Crore, for Medical Education Rs 220.84 crore, for Commercial Tax Department Rs 131.11 Crore, Rs 10.84 crore for Revenue, for Land Revenue Administration Rs 345.38 Crore, for Rehabilitation Rs 1.49 Crore, Natural Calamity and Drought Relief Rs 310 crore.
