Korba, May 12, 2010: A total of 11 dead bodies have been recovered from the underground Anjan Hill coal mine of the South Eastern Coalfields Limited, located at Korea district of Chhattisgarh, after an explosion.
Previously five bodies had been recovered, who were killed after an air explosion in the underground coal mine on May 6 and a six member rescue team had entered the mine to get them out and subsequent rescue teams have recovered the bodies of all the six bodies of the first rescue team, SECL authorities told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Among the killed was one Deputy General Manager of the SECL, the officials said.
There were reports of leaking of poisonous gas from the mine and when work were under progress to protect the air blast took place in which five workers were killed and subsequently six bodies of the rescue team were also recovered, Staff Officer A S Bapat said.
