CPRF DG Meets Raman Singh

Dr.Raman Singh

Raipur, July 20, 2010: Special Director General of CRPF Vijay Raman today met the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and discussed about the anti-naxal operation in Chhattisgarh.

Interestingly the state Government and the CRPF both are tight lipped on the agenda of the meeting.

However, sources said the CRPF DG met the Chief Minister at his residence at about 11.00 AM today and discussed the issues pertaining to the anti-naxal operation in the state.

Vijay Raman, a Madhya Pradesh cadre IPS, was in news recently for his statement against the Chhattisgarh police saying even the Director General of Police Vishwa Ranjan was not listening to him.

"The DGP is not listening... The point is when you are given an assignment the first thing you need to do is become a part of the solution. The illegal killings have contributed to the problem. So if you are party to it then you become a part of the problem," the Special DG CRPF reportedly told The Week magazine.

He also said Chhattisgarh was the most challenging state in the fight against Maoists.

Like his Home Minister P Chidambaram, Raman also said he was not agreed to the idea of Operation Green Hunt being carried out against naxalites in Chhattisgarh.

"This operation is a creation of Chhattisgarh's Director-General of Police. I don't subscribe to it. As far as Government of India is concerned, it does not exist".
