59 killed in 3 months of various diseases

Raipur, August 03, 2010: At least 59 people were killed of various diseases in the last three months, including 52 of dysentery, the Chhattisgarh Assembly was informed today.

Between March to July 2010, a total of 17446 cases of dysentery, 42906 diarrhoea, 24000 cases of Malaria and 356 cases of jaundice had been reported, Health Minister Amar Agrawal said.

Replying to a question of Dharamjeet Singh of Congress, the health Minister said during that period 52 people had died of dysentery, six of diarrhoea and one was killed of malaria.

During that period 59 people were killed of the three diseases, Agrawal said.
