Bilaspur, October 11, 2010: At least seven persons, including five pilgrims were killed today and 26 seriously injured in two separate road accidents in Chhattisgarh, police said.
"At least five pilgrims were killed and eleven injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling in collided head on with a truck in Bodri Village, near High Court Building in Bilaspur district," Bilaspur District Superintendent of Police Jayant Kumar Thorat told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
The accident took place when about 16 people were returning back after having darshan of the famous Chandrahasini goddess in Janjgir, the SP said.
Meanwhile, in a separate collision between a car and a passenger bus at Tumgaon of Mahasamund district, 65 km from capital city Raipur, two persons were killed and 15 injured, many of them seriously, Mahasamund Police sources said.
Among the killed were a woman, they said adding the injured are being treated at local hospital.
