     Raipur, June 29, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said today that 159 Anganwadi centers are operating in five main Naxal-affected districts and at the same time the BJP government of the state is working hard for the upliftment of women.

     Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur met Chief Minister Sai at the CM House today.

     During the meeting, Sai discussed in detail with Thakur about various schemes run for the welfare of women and children in the state.

     He said that 159 Anganwadi centers are being successfully operated by the Women and Child Development Department under the Niyad Nellanar Scheme in Naxal-affected Bijapur, Sukma, Kanker, Dantewada and Narayanpur districts of the state.

     This initiative is taking the schemes of the government directly to the last line in those remote areas.

     The Chief Minister also informed that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, an amount of ₹ 10,431.30 crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of more than 70 lakh women during the period from March 2024 to June 2025. This has given a strong foundation to the economic self-reliance of women.

     Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is focusing especially on empowering women and children under the resolve of all-round development of the state.

     On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured Union Minister Thakur by presenting a shawl and coconut.

     State Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade and State Child Protection Commission Chairperson Varnika Sharma were present during the meeting.
