Raipur, February 24, 2025: The Election Commission of India has organised a conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all the states and union territories of the country on 4th and 5th March to discuss various issues relating to voting.
Two-day conference has been organized at India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management, New Delhi, where Chief Electoral Officers from across the country will discuss IT architecture, effective communication, enhancing social media outreach, statutory role of various officials in electoral processes and key areas of modern election management, official sources said today.

This is the first ever conference of Chief Electoral Officers after the newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar took charge.
For this, the Commission has directed all Chief Electoral Officers to nominate one District Election Officer (DEO) and one Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) each from their respective states and union territories.
As statutory authorities, CEO, DEO and ERO are important officers at the state, district and assembly constituency level.
The two-day conference of Chief Electoral Officers will provide a platform to the election officers of the states and union territories to brainstorm and learn from each other’s experiences.
On the first day of the conference, key areas of modern election management including IT architecture, effective communication, enhancing social media outreach and the statutory role of various officials in the electoral process will be discussed.
On the second day, the CEOs of the states and union territories will present their action plan on the various topics discussed on the first day.
