Raipur, August 27, 2008: CPI-M today pulled up severely the policy of the Chhattisgarh government on farmers and said despite all such things several farmers are committing suicides in the state.
“In Chhattisgarh 50 farmers are committing suicide against every one lakh farmer families, which is really a matter of serious concern,” CPI-M Polit Bureau Member M K Pandhe said here.
“This rate of committing suicide is highest in the country,” in a statement Pandhe said here.
Also launching a frontal attack on their former ally Congress, the CPM said at the national level also the condition of the farmers are not good and despite announcement of writing up off loans the number of suicides by farmers was increasing.
Commonmen are in deep trouble due to unchecked price rise, but BJP was silent over the reason behind such inflation, Pandhe said.
