Korba, November 11, 2008: Sarguja Range Inspector General of Police B S Maravi, who was yesterday evening injured in Maoists bullets in Balrampur district, was today referred to Raipur for treatment.
The condition of Maravi has improved and he is out of danger but for further and better treatment the IGP has been referred to Raipur from Sarguja district headquarters, Sarguja Chief District Medical Officer Dr P K Srivastav told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Also the Balrampur District Superintendent of Police Badri Narayan Meena, who was in the same vehicle with Maravi when a large number of Maoists ambushed their vehicle, said in the gun battle after naxals opened fire, no policeman has been injured.
After the IG was injured in naxal firing, policemen gave a matching fire and about five of the Maoists might have been killed in that incident, Meena said.
Immediately Maravi was brought to Sarguja district Headquarters yesterday night with multiple injuries and operated upon, doctors said.
Although he was safe but looking into his condition he was being shifted to Raipur for better treatment, they said.
