Jagdalpur, November 13, 2008: Armed Maoists today looted three Electronic Voting Machines from polling parties in Dantewada district, a day ahead of the assembly election in Chhattisgarh.
Armed Maoists surrounded the polling parties in Gadiras area under Konta assembly constituency and asked them to hand over the EVMs, police sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
After the polling parties handed over the EVMs, the Maoists with out causing any harm to them went missing in the woods, police said.
The polling parties were proceeding to their booths with out any armed guards, they said.
As the polling parties have returned back to their base area they would again be sent with fresh EVMs for tomorrow’s vote, polling officials said.
