Raipur, October 04, 2024: At least 30 Maoists, including some senior commanders, were shot dead in an encounter with security forces in Dantewada-Narayanpur border area of Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.
“30 dead bodies have so far been recovered from the hilly areas, where the encounter took place,” Dantewada District Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
The encounter took place in the hills of Thulthuli and Nendur forestry areas in the bordering districts of Dantewada and Narayanpur.
“The Company number 6 of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army of the CPI (Maoist) were almost wiped out in the gun battle,” Rai said.
Among the killed are some top commanders also, he added.
Inspector General of Police Bastar Range P Sunderraj also said the forces have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions, including automatic weapons like Light Machine Gun (LMG) AK-47, weapons of Indian Small Arms System (INSAS), Self-Loaded Rifle (SLR) and others.
Intensive search is being carried out as “we are expecting couple of more bodies of the Maoists,” Sunderraj said.
On specific intelligence of gathering of top Maoists commanders in Thulthuli and Nendur forestry area, security forces launched an operation from the evening of October 3. Today, when both of them were face to face, the ultras opened fire. In retaliatory fire by the forces, including top commanders many Maoist cadres were killed, whose bodies have been recovered, the top Police Officer of Bastar said.
“In the Maoists fire one the security personnel was injured, who is airlifted to Raipur for further treatment,” Sunderraj added.
On April 16, 2024 security forces had shot dead at least 29 Maoists guerillas in Kalpar Jungle of Chhotebetiya police station of Kanker District.
However, this time the number of casualties of the rebels have been exceeded from the last incident.

Raipur November 20, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today discussed in details with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu in New Delhi regarding expansion of air connectivity in the state and expansion of Raipur Airport.
After arriving in the national capital earlier in the day, Chief Minister Sai met Union Civil Aviation Minister Naidu at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in New Delhi today.
The Chief Minister briefed the Union minister about the opportunity in expansion of air connectivity in the state.
Discussions were held on strengthening the air connectivity of the state and development of regional airports.
