Raipur, January 11, 2009: Chhattisgarh PCC today strongly condemned the attack on two journalists in Bhatapara of Raipur District.
Ajit Bajpai of Tarun Chhattisgarh and Chandra Kishor Tiwari of Samta Abhiyan were assaulted in Bhatapara when they had gone for investigating in the construction site of Indira Awas Yojana, the Chhattisgarh PCC said.
The alleged assault was carried out by the construction contractor under protection of the ruling BJP members, PCC President Dhanendra Sahu claimed in a statement.
Strongly condemning the incident, the PCC President said the Congress party would not tolerate insult to the fourth estate and had also demanded strong action against the accused.
