Raipur, February 15, 2025: In a humiliating defeat Congress party today failed to even open account in the Mayor elections in Chhattisgarh as with a clean sweep ruling BJP won in all the 10 municipal corporations of the state.

Importantly after 15 years BJP returned to not only power in Raipur Municipal Corporation but also the victory margin was 1,53,290 votes by Meenal Choubey of BJP against the Congress candidate Deepti Pramod Dubey.
In Bilaspur also the BJP candidate Pooja Vidhani became victorious with an impressive margin of 66,179 votes from the nearest rival of Congress.
Besides winning all the 10 Municipal corporations, BJP registered victory in 35 municipalities out of 49 and out of 114 Nagar Panchayats (notified area councils) BJP captured power in 81.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai termed the victory as a vote towards the good governance of his 13 months government. And like the “Modi’s Guarantee”, the people of the state have accepted the “Atal Vishwas Patra” (the election manifesto of local bodies elections).
“We will never go away from the promises made to the people and every promise will be fulfilled,” Sai reiterated.

“This is also clear from the victory of BJP that the people have rejected the corruption politics of Congress and votes for a corruption free and transparent governance,” the Chief Minister said.
Reports of celebration by BJP was pouring in from various parts of the state after the ruling party registered victory in the urban local body elections.
